What kind of artists is the talent search open to?
We are looking for solo artists and bands in the following catagories: acoustic, alternative, contemporary, rock & pop, gospel, rap, praise and worship - no screamo or hard rock, sorry!

Is there a registration deadline?
Yes and no. While there is not a specific date that you must register by, we do only have a limited amount of space for each local event which means that once they are full, we cannot accept any more artists. This means you will want to register as soon as possible to reserve your space.

What does every artist get for participating?
Every artist will get professional written feedback from our head judge, exposure via pictures and/or video on our website, networking opportunities and playing experience.

Can I pick what location to perform at?
Yes, as long as it is not full.

How many artists perform at each showcase?
Typically between 10-15.

Does The 5000 Music Group pay any of my travel expenses?
No. You are responsible for travel expenses including gas, food, lodging, etc.

Why is there a registration fee?
The registration fee helps us cover some of the costs associated with putting together such a large endeavor.

What if I can't afford the registration fee?
Don't worry, there are many creative ways to get the money you need. If you are a group, each member can contribute a little bit to ease the cost. Alternatively, you might try holding a local concert and ask for donations to come to our talent search at the end. Get creative and you can make it happen!

How are the winners selected?
The recipients of any and all prizes are selected at the sole discretion of the head judge. This is not an "Idol" style competition.

Chris McConnell.

Is this a competition?
This is a competition in the light that someone will "win" a prize, but there really aren't any "losers" since every artist has the chance to improve their skills through our talent search. We do not emphasize a competitive atmosphere. Instead, artists are encouraged to come put on their best performance for our judges and the local audience.

How many artists will participate?
Probably somewhere between 60 and 150 artists and bands will take part, although we don't know an exact number.

Is the talent search only open to vocalists? Can bands participate as well?
We encourage solo artists, vocalists and bands alike to register and participate.

Can I use a CD for background music?
Yes.
